Marieholms Plast AB was a very old Swedish Company (it was founded in the XIX Century). At the beginning they produced agricultural tools. Towards 1940 they switched their activity to shipbuilding. Later, they were among the first Companies to adopt the fibreglass as building material for boats. Their International Folkboat, based on the popular Swedish vessel, had enormous success worldwide. Tord Arne Sundén, the same Folkboat's designer, drawed the majority of the models built by Marieholms. Their fibreglass range of vesssels was based on day-sailers and school boats and small blue water cruisers. They had a good recognition and their commercial success lasted until the mid Eighties, when the Yard's inability to renew the range, ended in the closure of its activities. Its heritage was continued by the Arcona brand. The Marieholm 32 was the first of the bigger boats of the Yard. She had a long lasting commercial career, followed by an improved version, called 32E, which used the same hull with a more modern but less practical deck This unit is in very good general shape. Her owner painted and varnished her interior, to rent her as a floating residence in Barcelona. The engine was also recently serviced and she has a basic electronics system. She is ready for coastal cruisers and, with a few improvements, for longer trips too.
