Barcos Singulares Comments

The Euros 41 was firstly introduced in 1968 as the then bigger yacht in the Amel range. It was kept in production for ten years. Its designer, Henri Amel himself, conceived her as a blue water cruiser “so comfortable in bad weather as moored in harbour”. Her tense lines, with short overhangs (for that moment, not by today's standards), her relatively short but ample keel and her rudder on a skeg, protected propeller shaft, etc, made for a real blue water cruiser, very easy to handle by a couple thanks also to her light displacement (again, for its time). The aft cabin was luxurious and the forecastle, altough of reduced size, hosted a second couple in comfort. The Euros 41 was a succesful model: more than 250 units were built in total. Her sturdy construction still ensures its reliability. Her lines have become classic and lovely, but she is still a perfect blue watercruiser for those who don't mind about exasperated performances, but a noble, sweet and safe attitude instead. Safety: Amel did not use wire for safety lines, a s.s. rigid bar throughout was mounted instead. This unit is in good shape. She was properly restored by her present owner, not affecting to her particular character.
