Barcos Singulares Comments

Towards the end of the Sixties Harry Hallberg (who had no sold yet his Company to Christoph Rassy) was building a range of cruiser sport biased sailing boats. When it came out the 32 Mistress was a real racing boat, an I.O.R. Half Tonner racer. She was designed by Olle Enderlein who was to be for so long connected to the Yard's history. The first unit built, out of 110 in total, made a good impression during her first year of races: she was fifth at the Half Ton Cup held at La Rochelle and won the Baltic Race and the Skaw Race, a long distance regatta between Sweden and the Shetland Islands. Even thought that this model was not built in so high numbers as other boats from the same yard, those 110 units built are a proof of her succesful design which combines its wonderful performances to a luxurious interior, useful and cosy (particularly at that moment). The magnific craftmanship level is visible in any detail, with a profusion of solid wood and high quality deck and handling hard-ware. The Mistress 32 goes very well up-wind and is still fearsome on Club's races. She is a wonderful vessel to start sailing at the best and with a tiny budget. The Gundungen II, a boat that never changed her name, had two Finnish owners and one Italian before 1999, when she was purchased by her present Spanish one. He took advantage of her to family cruise and solo race, with fine outcome. In 2010 the boat was totally refitted, with works that gave her new life for twenty years plus, as she has been so carefully attended since then: today she still looks quite new! She only needs a gel-coat renewal on deck, not essential to continue sailing as she actually does. His sons growth and his desire to still sail with them forces the owner to sell Gundungen II. Thus a perfect chance for someone who is looking for a small elegant vessel, comfortable, fast and easy to handle, in very good shape!
