When the new generation of Bavaria appeared, in the middle of the first decade of the 2000s, the 46 Cruiser stood in the middle between the smaller 42 and the larger 49, all designed by the Slovenian Jakopin brothers.
The Bavaria 46 Cruiser was conspicuous for its comfortable deck and interior spaces. On deck, the two wheels leave the passage clear to the stern, equipped with a folding swim ladder, while the two solid binnacles separate the helmsmans area from the more convivial part, with the table in the centre. The mainsheet, with its rail in the coach-roof, is unobtrusive at anchor, while at the foredeck there is plenty of space for sunbathing. Below deck, the feeling of space is even greater. Thanks to the large beam, the saloon is divided between a dinette with a table on starboard side and a central sofa and a large galley on the port along the topside. The version on offer has four cabins, three of which are double cabins and one with bunk beds, very practical on occasions. This is the most commercially successful version. Her owner has spared no expense to improve the boat's possible defects: the badly damaged teak deck lining has been removed and the entire deck has received an epoxy and anti-slip treatment, while the hull-deck joint has been reinforced. The keel has been removed, the bolts were replaced with new ones and the entire reinforcing structure of the floors received an additional reinforcement lamination, which the standard boats do not have. The engine was replaced by a new one, together with the S-drive transmission and its relative joint. All these works are recent and leave the boat in excellent seaworthy condition for its next owner. The greater rigidity of the hull was reflected in several victories or prizes for second and third places in regattas such as the Menorca Biosfera (2014), La Dragonera (2018) or the mini Sal (2020), among others.
