Barcos Singulares Comments

Michel Dufour achieved phenomenal success in the mid-1960s thanks to his Arpège, which marked the beginning of the industrial era in European yachting. Its resounding success is backed by more than 1,500 units produced in both Europe and America. At the height of this model's popularity, Dufour introduced another, similar in size but different in style: the Dufour 31 was markedly more cruising than racing and offered a groundbreaking design that broke with the traditions established up to that point. Its impressive habitability, combined with more than adequate sailing performance, made it another great commercial success, with more than 900 units produced. It was also built in Spain, by the Taylor shipyard in Somo, Alicante. These models continue to enjoy a good reputation on the second-hand market. The Dufour 31 still offers very spacious living quarters both on deck and inside, where the very ‘1970s’ style tastefully combines good quality woodwork with new plastic materials, which were painted in cheerful colours that today seem pleasantly old-fashioned. The boat on offer stands out for its very good interior presentation, a well kept engine with a new stern-gland, as well as new batteries, toilet seals and many other interesting details, such as an auxiliary with outboard motor, etc. In terms of necessary work, but nothing urgent, a coat of paint on the deck would round off the good condition of the interior.
