Winfried Hermann was a window manufacturer with a passion for sailing when he founded the Bavaria shipyard in 1978, together with his friend Josef Meltl, a yacht broker. Their aim was to challenge the best shipyards in the world, the Finnish shipyards Nautor and Baltic, with boats that were much cheaper, without compromising on build quality. The first Bavaria boats were characterised by steel and Kevlar reinforcements in the hull and gained a well-deserved reputation as sturdy and very seaworthy boats. Bavaria produced two ranges for each model: the Holiday, with more cabins, and the Caribic with spacious cabins. The first range was designed by the German Axel Monthaup. The 35 Holiday belongs to the second generation, designed by the Jakopin brothers who would collaborate with the shipyard for almost twenty years. The 36 it is a boat that surprises for the quality of the finishes, both on deck and below. The habitability is also very good and even more so considering that it is not to the detriment of excellent stowage capacities in all areas. It is a cruising boat, but very agile and capable of handling very well in low wind conditions. The unit on offer had a German first owner who sailed from the North to the Mediterranean and then used the boat lightly, as evidenced by the low engine hours. Her second owner bought her just under a year ago, refitted her in all respects, with many important fittings new (S-Drive joint, electronics, seacocks, batteries, fridge compressors and electric toilet motor, LED lights interior and external, running rigging, sun-awning and spray-hood, etc., etc.), many others overhauled and refurbished (engine, sails, etc.) before finally having to sell her because he received an outstanding job offer. This is thus a rare opportunity to buy a high quality boat, equipped with all comforts (with the exception of an anchor windlass), in almost as good as new condition, for a very attractive price.
