In 2005, with the launch of the new Grand Soleil 45, Cantieri del Pardo embarked on a new course in the high-quality cruising-racing yacht sector. This was, in fact, a model that would set a new standard of excellence in both categories. The hull design by Jüdel & Vrolijk follows, to a certain extent, in the wake of the successful Dehler 47, with increased beam and more sporty lines in general, but without losing sight of comfort in cruising. And indeed, the GS 45 has earned a great reputation as an excellent boat in all conditions and particularly comfortable in heavy winds. Compared to a modern cruiser-racer, the GS 45 offers greater safety, with a closed stern, but well equipped for swimming at anchor. The spacious cockpit also allows for entertaining evenings, while the spacious interior, with three generously sized cabins and two bathrooms, provides space and comfort that is unusual in a sports cruiser. Add to this the elegance and craftsmanship of the expert carpenters of El Pardo, and the result is a boat at the top of its class, where it remained throughout the entire time this model was in production. The success of the formula is confirmed by the approximately 150 units built. The ‘Rock 'n Roll’, as the boat on offer is called, has a Sparcraft Performance mast, a teak deck in magnificent condition and rigging that far exceeds what is necessary on board. The dimensions of the four main winches, the presence of an electric winch on the piano, the spinnaker pole: everything is there to take this boat to its limits in complete safety. The complete electronics, powerful bow thruster, good water and diesel fuel availability, and generator will help in the day-to-day running of offshore cruises. The maintenance carried out by its current owner ensures trouble-free use for a long time to come.
